Check parallel detect with forced partner.

Check that an autonegotiating endpoint detects link speed from a forced link partner.

  1. Save current PHY configuration on both endpoints.

  2. Check that both PHY ports are twisted pair.

  3. Choose a common exact PHY mode suitable for parallel detect.

  4. Establish a connection between IUT and Tester to check data flow.

  5. Advertise the selected full- and half-duplex modes.

  6. Force the selected speed and full duplex on Tester.

  7. Wait until link comes up on both sides.

  8. Check local autonegotiation state on both endpoints.

  9. Check that IUT sees link partner autonegotiation disabled.

  10. Check negotiated operational mode after parallel detect.

  11. Check that traffic flows after parallel detect.
